MetricsWatch vs TapClicks: Report Sender or Marketing Data Platform?

MetricsWatch vs TapClicks comparison card

TapClicks and MetricsWatch both take numbers out of tools like GA4, Google Ads and Facebook and send them to an agency's clients on a schedule, so they end up on the same shortlists. They are built at very different sizes. TapClicks is a marketing data platform: more than 250 connectors, a data warehouse, blends and calculations, dashboards, a drag-and-drop report designer, AI agents, scheduled reports, and order and workflow tools. MetricsWatch is a report sender for agencies: you connect a client's accounts, pick a report template, and it emails the finished report, in the body of the email, on the schedule you set.

If you are here looking for Megalytic: megalytic.com now forwards to a page on TapClicks' website, and we could not find a current Megalytic product or price documented there, so the comparison that matters today is with TapClicks.

This comparison is on the MetricsWatch blog, so read it knowing whose product we sell. Every TapClicks fact below was checked against TapClicks' own website, pricing page and help center on 1 November 2026.

The short version

Pick TapClicks if you want one platform for all of your marketing data: hundreds of sources, your own spreadsheets and databases, blended into channels, analysed in dashboards and AI chat, and turned into reports, slides and AI summaries in several formats. TapClicks sells it to agencies, brands, franchises and media companies, and it rewards having someone whose job includes running it.

Pick MetricsWatch if what you deliver is a recurring client report on GA4, Search Console, ads, social and email, branded as your agency's, and you want it set up from a template and read in the client's inbox, without a platform to learn first.

Setup: what you need to know before the first report goes out

TapClicks' getting started guide breaks setup into five steps: connect your data, create a dashboard, add widgets to it, generate a quick report, and schedule a report. Connecting a supported source is quick by TapClicks' account: for its Instant On connectors, "You just authenticate with the data provider and that's it." After connecting, you assign the campaigns in each data source to the client they belong to. The guide also says the platform's architecture "may seem a little overwhelming" at first and suggests new users focus on those five steps, and TapClicks runs a training academy. Its top plan, SmartSuite, includes setup services.

MetricsWatch starts from a report template: connect GA4, Search Console, Google Ads or the client's other accounts, preview the report, add your own commentary, and set the schedule. The person setting it up needs to know which numbers the client cares about; the template lays out the report.

The cost that comes back with every new client

Setup is not a one-time cost for an agency. It resurfaces every time you sign a client.

In TapClicks, a new client means connecting or assigning that client's campaigns, building or reusing its dashboard or report, and adding a scheduled report filtered to that client. TapClicks has tools for doing this at volume: Report Studio templates you reuse across clients, and a bulk import that sets up many scheduled reports from one CSV file. Every TapClicks plan includes a starter bundle of 10 clients; TapClicks does not publish what clients beyond that cost.

In MetricsWatch, a new client means a new report, built from a template and pointed at that client's accounts. Plans are sized by report count (2, 25 or 100), and adding a report inside your plan costs nothing extra.

Running without babysitting

TapClicks fetches new data from connected sources and updates it daily, according to its getting started guide. Its Report Scheduler sends reports daily, weekly, every two weeks, twice a month or monthly, to users of your TapClicks account or to outside email addresses, which suits clients who do not log in. The report can go as HTML in the body of the email, or as an HTML, PDF, Excel or Word attachment, and it can carry SmartEmail, an AI-written summary of what changed. On TapClicks' plan comparison, scheduled report automation starts on SmartReports, the second of its four plans; the entry plan, SmartStory, does not list it.

MetricsWatch sends daily, weekly or monthly, with the full report in the email body, so the client reads it without logging in anywhere or opening a file. If you also want a link or a PDF, you can turn on a shareable report URL with an optional password, and the client can open the report in a browser or download it as a PDF. You can preview a report before it goes to the client. Scheduled reports are on every MetricsWatch plan.

Ready to streamline your reporting?

MetricsWatch pulls twelve sources into one white-label report, delivered on your schedule: Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, Google Sheets, Microsoft Advertising, Facebook Ads, Facebook Pages, Instagram, LinkedIn Ads, LinkedIn Pages, and Mailchimp. Starts at $49/month. 14-day free trial, no credit card required.

Branding

Every TapClicks plan includes basic branding: logos, colours, themes and dark or light mode. For a fuller white label, TapClicks offers advanced custom branding through your customer success manager: a vanity URL on your own domain, for a recurring monthly fee, which also brings a custom sender name and email address for scheduled reports. TapClicks' help center says custom branding does not remove "Powered by TapClicks" from the sign-in page, and asks you to contact your customer success manager about that.

MetricsWatch includes white-label branding on every plan: your logo and colours, and a logo per client report. MetricsWatch does not offer a custom domain, and reports are sent from our default sending address.

Where MetricsWatch goes further

  • Less to learn before the first report. MetricsWatch is one job, a report template that emails itself; TapClicks' own guide says its architecture "may seem a little overwhelming" to new users.
  • Scheduled reports on every plan, including the cheapest. On TapClicks' plan comparison, report automation is not part of its entry plan, SmartStory.
  • Prices on the website. MetricsWatch publishes its plans; TapClicks' pricing page lists no prices and asks you to schedule an appointment.

Pricing, side by side

TapClicks does not publish prices. Its pricing page compares four plans, SmartStory, SmartReports, SmartAnalytics and SmartSuite, by feature, and for a price it asks you to schedule an appointment so it can "go through the details with you." Each plan includes a starter bundle of 10 clients. We have not quoted a TapClicks price here because we could not find one on TapClicks' website.

MetricsWatch prices by report. It is $49 per month for 2 reports (Startup), $149 per month for 25 reports (Pro) and $399 per month for 100 reports (Agency), billed monthly; annual billing is 10 times the monthly price. White-label is on every plan.

The two will not buy the same thing whatever TapClicks quotes you: its plans include a data warehouse, dashboards, AI agents and, higher up, alerts, which MetricsWatch does not offer.
