MetricsWatch vs Databox: Pricing, Delivery and Who Should Pick Which

MetricsWatch vs Databox comparison card

Databox and MetricsWatch can both put marketing numbers in front of a client on a schedule, but they are different kinds of product. Databox is a broad analytics platform: dashboards and reports, an AI analyst it calls Genie, goals, anomaly detection, and more than 130 integrations, priced by users, data sources and AI credits. MetricsWatch is an email reporting tool: you start from a template, connect the client's marketing accounts, and the report lands in their inbox on a schedule.

This comparison is on the MetricsWatch blog, so read it knowing whose product we sell. Every Databox fact below was checked against Databox's own pricing page and help center on 1 November 2026.

The short version

Pick Databox if you want one place for dashboards, goals, anomaly alerts and AI answers about the data, across a large catalogue of tools, and you will use that breadth. It suits a team that wants an analytics platform, not just a client report.

Pick MetricsWatch if the thing you deliver is a recurring client report, and you want it set up from a template and sent to the client's inbox, with white-label branding included on every plan.

Setup: what you need to know before the first report goes out

Databox has worked hard on setup. Its dashboard page says you can build without code: drag metrics onto a dashboard, start from one of its prebuilt templates, or ask Genie to build it for you. Its agency page describes account templates that apply a setup you have already built to the next client.

The know-how Databox asks for is the platform itself. Its pricing page is organised around data sources, AI credits, a governed semantic layer, custom metrics, skills and routines. That is a lot of capability, and worth it if you use it. If all you need is the monthly report, it is more product to learn than the job requires.

MetricsWatch starts from a report template: connect GA4, Search Console, Google Ads or the client's other accounts, preview the report, add your own commentary, and set the schedule. The person setting it up needs to know which numbers the client cares about.

The cost that comes back with every new client

Setup is not a one-time cost for an agency. It resurfaces every time you sign a client.

In Databox, each client is usually its own account, and every account or property you connect counts as a data source: in Databox's own example, 3 GA4 properties are 3 data sources. The Agency plan grows through account packs, each adding 1 account, 5 data sources and 50 AI credits. Account templates reduce the repeat setup work.

In MetricsWatch, a new client means a new report, built from a template and pointed at that client's accounts. Plans are sized by report count (2, 25 or 100), not by data sources.

Running without babysitting

Both tools can send reports on a schedule. Databox's scheduled report notifications export a report as a page or as slides and deliver it by email, Slack or both, to recipients inside or outside your Databox account, with an optional custom subject and note. You can also send a dashboard snapshot by email or Slack as an image or PDF. Databox's pricing page lists Sharing and notifications on its Team and Agency plans, not on Free or Analyst.

MetricsWatch sends daily, weekly or monthly, with the full report in the email body, so the client reads it without logging in anywhere. If you also want a link or a PDF, you can turn on a shareable report URL with an optional password, and the client can open the report in a browser or download it as a PDF. You can preview a report before it goes to the client.

Databox also watches the numbers between reports: anomaly detection and goals are on every Databox plan, including Free. Data syncs daily on Free and hourly on paid plans, and a 15-minute sync add-on is available for selected data sources. MetricsWatch Reports does not include anomaly alerts; we sell alerting as a separate product, MetricsWatch Alerts.

Ready to streamline your reporting?

MetricsWatch pulls twelve sources into one white-label report, delivered on your schedule: Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, Google Sheets, Microsoft Advertising, Facebook Ads, Facebook Pages, Instagram, LinkedIn Ads, LinkedIn Pages, and Mailchimp. Starts at $49/month. 14-day free trial, no credit card required.

Branding

Databox white-labeling is an add-on, listed on its pricing page at $200 per month. The page does not say whether that figure changes with annual billing. It removes Databox branding and adds your logo, colours, a custom domain for logins and shared dashboard links, and a custom sending address so emails come from your company rather than Databox.

MetricsWatch includes white-label branding on every plan: your logo and colours, and a logo per client report. MetricsWatch does not offer a custom domain, and reports are sent from our default sending address. If your clients must never see the software vendor's name anywhere, Databox's white-label add-on goes further than MetricsWatch does.

Where Databox goes further

  • A much larger integration catalogue: more than 130 integrations against MetricsWatch's 12.
  • Analysis beyond the report: Genie, its AI analyst, answers questions about your data, and anomaly detection and goals run on every plan.
  • Slack delivery for scheduled reports and snapshots, alongside email.
  • A custom domain and your own sending address, through the white-label add-on.
  • A free plan: 1 user, 3 data sources and 1 dashboard, with no time limit.

Where MetricsWatch goes further

  • Scheduled client reports on the entry plan. Databox's pricing page lists Sharing and notifications on its Team and Agency plans, and the lower of those, Agency, starts at $99 per month ($79 per month billed annually). MetricsWatch sends on a schedule from its $49 per month Startup plan.
  • White-label branding at no extra cost. Logo and colours are on every MetricsWatch plan; at Databox, branding is the $200 per month add-on. MetricsWatch has no custom domain; see above.
  • Pricing that does not count data sources. A MetricsWatch plan is sized by reports; Databox plans are sized by data sources, users and AI credits.

Pricing, side by side

Price matters less than the setup and upkeep above, but here it is. Databox prices by plan, not per seat. Free is $0. Analyst is $71 per month billed annually (1 user, 5 data sources). Team Core is $249 per month, or $199 per month billed annually (3 users, 10 data sources); Team Scale is $399 per month, or $319 per month billed annually (10 users, 30 data sources). Agency starts at $99 per month, or $79 per month billed annually, with unlimited users, 20 data sources and 300 AI credits; account packs are $25 per month each on monthly billing (1 account, 5 data sources, 50 AI credits). Databox gives 20% off for annual billing.

MetricsWatch is priced per account by report count: $49 per month for 2 reports, $149 per month for 25, $399 per month for 100, billed monthly. Annual billing is 10 times the monthly price, so Startup is $490 a year.

Rough client count Databox Agency (monthly billing) MetricsWatch (monthly billing)
2 clients $99 per month (base Agency plan) $49 per month (Startup, 2 reports)
10 clients $249 per month ($99 plus 6 account packs) $149 per month (Pro, 25 reports)
20 clients $499 per month ($99 plus 16 account packs) $149 per month (Pro, 25 reports)
40 clients $999 per month ($99 plus 36 account packs) $399 per month (Agency, 100 reports)

That table is our arithmetic from Databox's published prices, assuming one account per client and no more than 5 data sources per client. Databox's plan builder starts the Agency plan at 4 accounts; each pack adds one. Add $200 per month if you want Databox's white-label add-on. Databox's price also buys unlimited users, AI credits, anomaly detection and its wider integration catalogue.

Common questions

Is there a free option? Databox has a free plan: 1 user, 3 data sources and 1 dashboard, without Sharing and notifications. MetricsWatch has a 14-day trial with no credit card. Databox's paid plans also have a 14-day trial with no credit card.

Can my client read the report without logging in? With both, yes. On Team and Agency, Databox can email or Slack an exported report or a dashboard snapshot, and share a link. MetricsWatch puts the full report in the email body, with an optional shareable link and PDF.

Does MetricsWatch have an AI analyst like Genie? Not in the same form. Genie answers questions about your data inside Databox. MetricsWatch is built around the scheduled report you add your own commentary to.

Who is behind MetricsWatch? A small company, deliberately. It has been reporting on marketing data since 2015, and support emails are answered by the people who can fix things.
