MetricsWatch vs Semrush (2026): An Honest Comparison
Semrush is best known as an SEO suite: keyword research, rank tracking, site audits, backlinks and, lately, AI search visibility. Inside it sits My Reports, a report builder that pulls Semrush data and data from other marketing tools into branded reports sent on a schedule. That reporting module is what this page compares with MetricsWatch, because it is the part that does the same job. MetricsWatch is not an SEO research tool and has no standalone rank tracker; it reports the Search Console rankings Google already gives you.
This comparison is on the MetricsWatch blog, so read it knowing whose product we sell. Every Semrush fact below was checked against Semrush's own pricing page and knowledge base on 1 November 2026.
The short version
Pick Semrush My Reports if your agency already does its SEO work in Semrush and you want rankings, site audit results, backlinks and competitor data in the same report as GA4 and ad numbers.
Pick MetricsWatch if the thing you deliver is a recurring client report on GA4, Search Console, ads, social and email, and you want it set up from a template, sent in the body of the client's email, with white-label branding included on every plan.
Setup: what you need to know before the first report goes out
Semrush gives you two ways to start a report in My Reports: a pre-built template, such as its Monthly SEO Report, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console or Google Ads templates, or a blank canvas. You build by dragging widgets from a library that covers Semrush's own tools and its integrations, and as each widget goes in you set its parameters: the keyword, domain, database or time frame it should pull. You can also save your own report as a custom template.
The know-how Semrush asks for is Semrush. The widget library is organised around its tools, Semrush data in a report needs a subscription to the toolkit that data comes from, and the person building the report needs to know which of those tools answers the client's question. Semrush says its reports look like hours of work and are delivered in minutes, and for an SEO team that lives in Semrush already, that is no extra learning. For someone who only needs a client report, it is a large product to get through first.
MetricsWatch starts from a report template: connect GA4, Search Console, Google Ads or the client's other accounts, preview the report, add your own commentary, and set the schedule. The person setting it up needs to know which numbers the client cares about.
The cost that comes back with every new client
Setup is not a one-time cost for an agency. It resurfaces every time you sign a client.
In Semrush, a new client usually means a new report. Semrush has made that quicker: you can copy an existing report and use Bulk edit to switch the data sources across every widget from one integration at once. Each report is also its own purchase: Semrush sells reports one at a time, billed monthly, so a new white-labeled client report is a new $20 per month line on the bill.
In MetricsWatch, a new client means a new report, built from a template and pointed at that client's accounts. Plans are sized by report count (2, 25 or 100), and adding a report inside your plan costs nothing extra.
Running without babysitting
Both tools send reports on a schedule. Semrush's scheduled reports go out daily, weekly or monthly on the day you choose, and Pro reports can also be sent hourly or at a specific time. Semrush generates the report as a PDF and emails it to the recipients you list, with an optional message in the email body; a paid Semrush account can send to up to 30 recipients, and free and trial accounts to 3. With Pro reports you can also publish an online dashboard from the report, a public link that refreshes on the report's schedule and can be embedded in a client portal.
MetricsWatch sends daily, weekly or monthly, with the full report in the email body, so the client reads it without logging in anywhere or opening a file. If you also want a link or a PDF, you can turn on a shareable report URL with an optional password, and the client can open the report in a browser or download it as a PDF. You can preview a report before it goes to the client.
Ready to streamline your reporting?
MetricsWatch pulls twelve sources into one white-label report, delivered on your schedule: Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, Google Sheets, Microsoft Advertising, Facebook Ads, Facebook Pages, Instagram, LinkedIn Ads, LinkedIn Pages, and Mailchimp. Starts at $49/month. 14-day free trial, no credit card required.
Branding
In Semrush, branding and white-labeling come with Pro reports. Semrush's knowledge base describes what that adds: a header with your logo and a short description instead of the standard Semrush logo, removal of the line saying the report data are taken from semrush.com, Semrush no longer marked as the sender, a custom email text, design themes and colours, and a custom domain. A Base report keeps the Semrush logo and attribution.
MetricsWatch includes white-label branding on every plan: your logo and colours, and a logo per client report. MetricsWatch does not offer a custom domain, and reports are sent from our default sending address. If your clients must never see the software vendor's name anywhere, a Semrush Pro report goes further than MetricsWatch does.

Where Semrush goes further
- SEO data in the report: rank tracking, site audit, backlink and competitor data from Semrush's own toolkits, next to GA4 and ad numbers.
- More integrations: 20+ external platforms on Pro reports, including HubSpot, CallRail, TikTok and Klaviyo, against MetricsWatch's 12.
- A custom domain and no vendor name on Pro reports, as described above.
- Finer scheduling: hourly sends or a specific time of day on Pro reports.
- Embeddable online dashboards built from a Pro report.
Where MetricsWatch goes further
- White-label branding at no extra cost. Logo and colours are on every MetricsWatch plan; at Semrush, branding and white-labeling are part of the $20 per month Pro report. MetricsWatch has no custom domain; see above.
- The report in the email itself. MetricsWatch puts the whole report in the email body. Semrush's knowledge base describes its scheduled report as a PDF sent by email, with an optional message in the body.
Pricing, side by side
Price matters less than the setup and upkeep above, but here it is. Semrush sells My Reports per report, each billed monthly: a Base report is $10 per month and a Pro report is $20 per month. Your first paid Semrush toolkit includes 3 Base reports and each further toolkit adds 2; the free plan includes 1. Semrush data in a report needs a subscription to the toolkit it comes from. The SEO toolkit's plans are SEO at $139 per month ($117.33 per month billed annually), Starter at $199 per month ($165.17 billed annually) and Pro+ at $299 per month ($248.17 billed annually), Advanced is priced on request.
MetricsWatch is priced per account by report count: $49 per month for 2 reports, $149 per month for 25, $399 per month for 100, billed monthly. Annual billing is 10 times the monthly price, so Startup is $490 a year, Pro $1,490 and Agency $3,990.
| Rough client count | Semrush Pro reports (monthly billing) | MetricsWatch (monthly billing) |
|---|---|---|
| 2 clients | $40 per month (2 Pro reports) | $49 per month (Startup, 2 reports) |
| 10 clients | $200 per month (10 Pro reports) | $149 per month (Pro, 25 reports) |
| 20 clients | $400 per month (20 Pro reports) | $149 per month (Pro, 25 reports) |
| 40 clients | $800 per month (40 Pro reports) | $399 per month (Agency, 100 reports) |
That table is our arithmetic from Semrush's published prices, assuming one white-labeled report per client. It covers the report add-ons only: if the reports use Semrush's own SEO data, add the Semrush plan, from $139 per month on monthly billing. We could not find it documented whether Pro reports can be bought without a paid Semrush plan. If you do not need white-labeling, Base reports at $10 per month each halve the Semrush column, and the reports included with your toolkits come off it, but outside Semrush's own data a Base report connects only Google Analytics and Search Console.
Common questions
Is there a free option? Semrush has a free plan with 1 Base report and a 7-day free trial of its paid plans; its pricing FAQ says that when you enter a card it charges a nominal amount to check the card and refunds it immediately, and that you are not charged until the trial ends. MetricsWatch has a 14-day trial with no credit card.
Can my client read the report without logging in? With both, yes. Semrush emails a PDF of the report, and Pro reports can also be shared as a public online dashboard. MetricsWatch puts the report in the email body, with an optional shareable link and PDF.
Does MetricsWatch track keyword rankings? It reports your real Search Console rankings for the queries Google shows you, inside the client report. It is not a rank tracker: if you need daily positions for a chosen keyword list, competitor rankings or site audits, that is Semrush's territory.
Who is behind MetricsWatch? A small company, deliberately. It has been reporting on marketing data since 2015, and support emails are answered by the people who can fix things.
