MetricsWatch vs Raven Tools (2026): An Honest Comparison
Raven Tools and Metrics Watch both end in a report a client reads, but they start from opposite places. Raven is an SEO toolkit first, rank tracking, site audits, backlink data, with client reporting layered on top. Metrics Watch is a reporting tool first, built to turn the data you already collect in GA4, Search Console and your ad accounts into a report that lands in the inbox.
Full disclosure before anything else: this comparison lives on the Metrics Watch blog, so you know whose product this is. The prices below are real either way. Every number was checked against Raven Tools's own pricing page on 1 September 2026.
The quick verdict
Pick Raven Tools if rank tracking and site audits are core to what you sell, not just a line in the report. Raven tracks up to 30,000 keywords and crawls up to 7 million pages a month on its higher tiers, has its own backlink index, and pulls in third-party link data from Moz and Majestic. That is a real SEO toolkit, not a reporting add-on.
Pick Metrics Watch if you already have rank and audit tools, or don't need them, and what you actually want is the marketing report itself: GA4, Search Console, ads and social pulled into one email your client opens without logging in anywhere. Reports are metered, not domains, so a change in your roster does not mean recalculating which tier you need.
Where the money crosses over: Raven's cheapest plan is $49/month ($39/month paid annually) for 2 domains. Metrics Watch's cheapest plan is $49/month for 2 reports, roughly the same starting point. At the top end, Raven's Lead plan is $479/month monthly or $399/month paid annually for 320 domains; Metrics Watch's Agency plan is $399/month flat for 100 reports. The two land near the same number at the top for very different capacity shapes: Raven is selling keyword and crawl volume, Metrics Watch is selling report count.

The pricing math that actually matters
Raven prices in five tiers, each capped by domains, users, trackable keywords and crawl volume rather than by clients directly: Small Biz at $49/month (2 domains, 1,500 keywords), Start at $109/month (20 domains, 15,000 keywords), Grow at $199/month (80 domains, 20,000 keywords), Thrive at $299/month (160 domains) and Lead at $479/month (320 domains, 30,000 keywords). Paying annually knocks 17 to 30% off each tier (checked 1 September 2026). Extra on-demand keyword checks run $0.003 each.
Metrics Watch meters on reports instead: $49/month for 2 reports, $149/month for 25, $399/month for 100. A client usually equals one report, sometimes two if you split channels.
| Rough client count | Raven Tools (monthly billing) | Metrics Watch |
|---|---|---|
| 2 domains/clients | $49/mo (Small Biz) | $49/mo (Startup, 2 reports) |
| 20 domains/clients | $109/mo (Start) | $149/mo (Pro, 25 reports) |
| 80 domains/clients | $199/mo (Grow) | $399/mo (Agency, 100 reports) |
| 320 domains/clients | $479/mo (Lead) | $399/mo (Agency, 100 reports, over its cap) |
Two honest notes on that table. First, if your roster maps closely to domains and you want the SEO toolkit anyway, Raven's per-domain pricing is competitive through the middle tiers, and it beats Metrics Watch's flat Agency price at 20 to 80 domains. Second, that comparison undersells what Raven includes at those prices: you are also paying for keyword tracking and site crawling capacity you may not use if reporting is all you need. Metrics Watch has no domain or keyword cap at all; a report either exists or it doesn't, and the count is what you're billed on.
Toolkit or report: the real difference
Raven Tools is built for agencies that live inside SEO tooling day to day: checking rankings, running audits, chasing backlinks, then packaging some of that work into a client-facing report at the end of the month. The reporting layer is real, shareable HTML/PDF reports and a client portal, but it sits on top of a much bigger surface.
Metrics Watch does one thing: takes the data from tools you already use, GA4, Search Console, your ad platforms, and turns it into a report a client reads without doing anything. If your SEO work happens elsewhere (or doesn't happen at all, plenty of clients just want a monthly traffic and conversion summary), you are not paying for keyword-tracking capacity you never touch.
To be precise about what both tools offer: Metrics Watch does read your actual Google Search Console rankings into a report widget, queries, clicks, average position, straight from Google. What it does not have is a standalone rank tracker where you pick arbitrary keywords and watch daily position against competitors the way Raven's dedicated tracker does (Raven Tools pricing page, checked 1 September 2026).
What Raven Tools does that Metrics Watch does not
- Built-in rank tracking, up to 30,000 keywords on the Lead plan, with on-demand checks beyond that at $0.003 each.
- Site audits and crawling, up to 7 million pages a month on the top tier.
- Backlink reporting, including its own index plus data pulled from Moz and Majestic.
- A client portal as a standing feature across all tiers, not an add-on.
If your agency's core service is SEO work itself rather than marketing reporting broadly, Raven's toolkit is the more complete home for that, and we would rather say so here than have you find it out later.
What Metrics Watch does that Raven Tools does not
- White-label on every plan, from $49/month. Raven's cheapest two tiers only get a subdomain and report branding; full custom-domain white-label starts at the $199/month Grow plan (Raven Tools pricing page, checked 1 September 2026).
- Reports rendered inside the email body. The charts and numbers are in the email itself, no portal login required, though a shareable dashboard link and PDF export exist for clients who want them.
- Pricing with no domain or keyword cap. Nothing to recalculate when a client's site grows or you add a few more tracked terms elsewhere.
- A 14-day trial with no credit card, against Raven's 7-day trial (Raven Tools pricing page, checked 1 September 2026).
Common questions
Do both have free trials? Yes, but not the same length: Metrics Watch runs 14 days with no credit card required, Raven Tools runs 7 days (Raven Tools pricing page, checked 1 September 2026).
Can I white-label both? On Metrics Watch, yes, on every plan including the $49 tier. On Raven, only the two cheapest plans get a subdomain and branding; a fully custom white-label domain needs the $199/month Grow plan or higher.
Is Raven Tools cheaper on monthly billing? The $39 to $399 effective monthly figures on Raven's site are the annual-billing rate; month-to-month billing runs 17 to 30% higher depending on tier. Metrics Watch prices are the same whether you commit annually or not; annual billing takes the usual 10x-the-monthly-rate discount.
What happens to my data if I cancel? Raven Tools states it retains account data for 30 days after cancellation before deletion (Raven Tools pricing page, checked 1 September 2026). We could not find an equivalent published retention window on our own pricing page to compare against; if that matters to you, ask us directly.
Who is behind Metrics Watch? A small company, deliberately. It has been reporting on marketing data since 2015, it is run by its owner, and support emails get answered by the person who can actually fix things.
