MetricsWatch vs Klipfolio: Pricing, Delivery and Who Should Pick Which

MetricsWatch vs Klipfolio comparison card

Klipfolio and MetricsWatch both end with a client looking at marketing numbers, but they get there differently. Klipfolio's Klips is a dashboard builder: you connect data sources, shape the data, build visual widgets (Klips) and arrange them into dashboards you share by link, PDF or scheduled email. MetricsWatch is an email reporting tool: you start from a template, connect the client's marketing accounts, and the report lands in their inbox on a schedule.

This comparison is on the MetricsWatch blog, so read it knowing whose product we sell. Every Klipfolio fact below was checked against Klipfolio's own pages on 1 November 2026. Klipfolio also sells PowerMetrics, a separate metrics product; this page covers Klips.

The short version

Pick Klipfolio if you want live dashboards built your way: custom calculations, more than 130 data integrations, wallboard displays, and refresh as often as up to the minute on its top plan. It suits a team with someone who enjoys building dashboards and will keep maintaining them.

Pick MetricsWatch if the thing you deliver is a recurring client report, and you want it set up from a template and sent to the client's inbox without anyone rebuilding it each month.

Setup: what you need to know before the first report goes out

Klips gives you a lot of control, and the control comes with a toolset to learn. Klipfolio's own cheat sheet for building Klips describes more than 100 Excel-like functions, used in the formula bar of its data Modeller and its Klip Editor. Klipfolio does include a template gallery on every plan, so you are not starting from a blank page, but tailoring a dashboard to a client means working in that editor.

MetricsWatch starts from a report template: connect GA4, Search Console, Google Ads or the client's other accounts, preview the report, add your own commentary, and set the schedule. The person setting it up needs to know which numbers the client cares about, not a formula syntax.

The cost that comes back with every new client

Setup is not a one-time cost for an agency. It resurfaces every time you sign a client.

In Klips, a new client usually means a new dashboard. Plans are sized by dashboard count (3, 10, 20 or 40) and extra dashboards are sold on top. Klipfolio does soften the repeat work for agencies: its Partner Program lets you manage client dashboards from a parent account and transfer dashboards, Klips and data sources between accounts. In MetricsWatch, a new client means a new report, built from a template and pointed at that client's accounts. Plans are sized by report count (2, 25 or 100).

Running without babysitting

Both tools can send reports on a schedule. Klipfolio's Scheduled Reports email a snapshot of a dashboard, once or on a schedule, as a PDF or as an image. Its pricing page lists Scheduled Reports and Published Links from the Grow plan upward; the entry Base plan includes PDF Reports but not Scheduled Reports.

MetricsWatch sends daily, weekly or monthly, with the full report in the email body, so the client reads it without logging in anywhere. If you also want a link or a PDF, you can turn on a shareable report URL with an optional password, and the client can open the report in a browser or download it as a PDF. You can preview a report before it goes to the client.

Klips is built for live data on a screen. Its dashboards refresh every 4 hours on Base, hourly on Grow, every 15 minutes on Team and up to the minute on Team+, which matters if the dashboard is on an office wallboard or a client checks it during the day.

Ready to streamline your reporting?

MetricsWatch pulls twelve sources into one white-label report, delivered on your schedule: Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, Google Sheets, Microsoft Advertising, Facebook Ads, Facebook Pages, Instagram, LinkedIn Ads, LinkedIn Pages, and Mailchimp. Starts at $49/month. 14-day free trial, no credit card required.

Branding

Both put your logo on what the client sees. Klips includes "Add Your Logo" from the Base plan. Klipfolio's full White-Label Bundle (branding, custom theme and custom domain) is an add-on at $299 per month, billed annually, and a custom domain on its own is $90 per month, billed annually.

MetricsWatch includes white-label branding on every plan: your logo and colours, and a logo per client report. MetricsWatch does not offer a custom domain, and reports are sent from our default sending address. If your clients must never see the software vendor's name anywhere, Klipfolio's custom domain add-on goes further than MetricsWatch does.

Where Klipfolio goes further

  • Dashboard refresh as often as up to the minute on Team+, with hourly or 15-minute refresh on the middle plans.
  • A much larger integration catalogue: more than 130 integrations against MetricsWatch's 12.
  • A custom domain, as a $90 per month add-on or inside the $299 per month White-Label Bundle (both billed annually).
  • Agency account structure: a parent account, with dashboards, Klips and data sources transferable between client accounts.

Where MetricsWatch goes further

  • Scheduled reports on the entry plan. Klipfolio's pricing page lists Scheduled Reports from Grow ($190 per month billed annually) upward; MetricsWatch sends on a schedule from its $49 per month Startup plan.
  • Logo and colours on every plan, at no extra cost. Klips includes your logo on every plan; changing its look and feel beyond that is the Custom Theme add-on ($69 per month, billed annually) or the White-Label Bundle ($299 per month, billed annually). MetricsWatch has no custom domain; see above.

Pricing, side by side

Price matters less than the setup and upkeep above, but here it is. Klips is priced per account by dashboard count, with unlimited users: Base $120 per month billed annually or $140 month to month (3 dashboards), Grow $190 or $220 (10 dashboards), Team $310 or $350 (20 dashboards), and Team+ $600 or $690 (40 dashboards). Extra dashboards are $8 per month each, billed annually.

MetricsWatch is priced per account by report count: $49 per month for 2 reports, $149 per month for 25, $399 per month for 100, billed monthly. Annual billing is 10 times the monthly price, so Startup is $490 a year.

Rough client count Klipfolio Klips (annual billing / monthly) MetricsWatch (monthly billing)
2 clients $120 / $140 per month (Base, 3 dashboards; Scheduled Reports listed from Grow) $49 per month (Startup, 2 reports)
10 clients $190 / $220 per month (Grow, 10 dashboards) $149 per month (Pro, 25 reports)
20 clients $310 / $350 per month (Team, 20 dashboards) $149 per month (Pro, 25 reports)
40 clients $600 / $690 per month (Team+, 40 dashboards) $399 per month (Agency, 100 reports)

That table assumes one dashboard or one report per client. If a client needs two, both tools count it twice. Klipfolio's price also buys unlimited users and dashboards that refresh through the day.

Common questions

Do both have free trials? Yes. Both run 14 days with no credit card required.

Can my client read the report without logging in? With both, yes. From the Grow plan, Klipfolio can email a dashboard snapshot as a PDF or an image and share a published link. MetricsWatch puts the full report in the email body, with an optional shareable link and PDF.

Does this cover PowerMetrics? No. PowerMetrics is Klipfolio's separate metrics product with its own pricing; this page compares Klips.

Who is behind MetricsWatch? A small company, deliberately. It has been reporting on marketing data since 2015, and support emails are answered by the people who can fix things.
